Costing & Accounting Analyst

A Global Consumer Packaged Goods Company is seeking an Costing & Accounting Analyst to join their growing team!

This individual will be responsible for managing System 2000 Master Data function and ongoing System 2000 process improvement. Responsibilities include product cost development, cost accounting, variance analysis, reporting and internal controls.

Manages Production Control to establish and insure adherence to company policies regarding data collection.  Responsible for the timely and accurate input of data supplied by operations to produce operational performance measurements.  Participates on management teams in order to provide knowledge, information or direction as necessary.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Review new product assumptions, yields, manning, through put and equipment requirements.
  • Build System 2000 Item Master Data and production standards from product development through production phase.
  • Participate in company initiatives to leverage System 2000 for plant analysis and reporting improvement initiatives.
  • Respond to questions from Marketing on assumptions made by plant personnel during product development stage.
  • Compare estimated cost to like products for reasonableness prior to finalization of standard costing.
  • Cost Accounting, Financial Analysis, and Reporting:
  • Responsible for accuracy of financial reporting related to operations performance
  • Provide accurate and timely analysis of production performance by department
  • Analyze cost variances to validate Item Master Data integrity.
  • Deliver insight related to product cost changes. Prepare Various Analysis and Cause of Change detail.  Work with Production Management to drive business results to meet targeted objectives.
  • Prepare various internal and external financial reports on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
  • Periodically reconciles perpetual inventory records to the general ledger.
  • Working with Inventory Control & operations manages company programs for monitoring inventory accuracy such cycle count program, weekly in process counts and other periodic physical counts.  Reports  results to senior management.
  • Responsible for meeting monthly close schedule and all required month end financial reporting as determined by senior management.
  • Financial Management:
  • Assist in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities and procedures relating to financial management, budget, cost accounting, and inventory control.
  • Performs any and all necessary functions to help in the overall effectiveness of the plant's productivity
  • Implement processes and procedures to improve financial controls.
  • Provides financial supports to operations with annual budgeting process.
  • Provides financial support & control for operations CIP

Qualifications:

  • Education and experience required; BA or BS in Management, Accounting or a related field from four-year College or university
  • 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent experience.
